Immerse yourself in the world of the French painter and graphic artist Pierre Soulages (1919 - 2022)! Along with Hans Hartung, Pierre Soulages was the main representative of the abstract non-representational direction of French contemporary painting. Typical of his compositions are broad black bar shapes against a light background. The museum building alone is worth a visit. The renowned Catalan architectural office RCR conceived a sensitive structure of closed and open spaces. The exterior abruptness of the structure, but especially of the enveloping Corten steel, reveals references to the abstract work of Pierre Soulages.
