Dawna Mueller

Dawna Mueller is an accidental environmentalist who combines her skill as a lawyer with her photography expertise and heart for nature conservation. In November 2019, Dawna presented a talk, ‘The Accidental Environmentalist” at an event hosted by the University of British Columbia’s Allard Hall School of Law and Sauder School of Business called ‘Sustainable Futures – How Alumni are Creating Climates of Change.’ As a graduate of the Allard Hall School of Law, Dawna has utilized her legal education in combination with her skills as a photographer and activist to create a successful career in the world of conservation photography and speaking.

As a dual Swiss and Canadian citizen, Dawna has spent the last five years exploring and photographing the fragile ecosystems in the Swiss Alps, Arctic and Antarctic. Her breathtaking black and white photographs illustrate both the majestic beauty of glaciers, mountains and icebergs as well as the impact of human activity caused by global warming. Dawna’s landscape portraits capture the haunting beauty of these environments with the intention of creating a dialogue to create social change and awareness.
